About me

About

I became a software engineer by rebuilding things. In college I rewrote my Laravel final project in Spring Boot and Vue, learning from documentation, articles and other people's GitHub repos. That itch never went away - since then I have built CRUD APIs with Express and Rails, shipped products with Vue, Nuxt and React, and lately I am learning Go and Svelte, plus contributing to open source with friends.

For the last 7+ years that curiosity has been my job. At Traveloka I worked on the accommodation web platform - hotel booking flows used by more than 50 million people a month, where a 40% load-time improvement is measured in real bookings. At Blibli I built payment and B2G systems, where correctness is not optional. Now at Sellavir I build CenterEye, AI voice analytics for live call centers across Japan - software that has to be fast, resilient and genuinely useful to the person wearing the headset.

Since 2022 I have also been freelancing on Upwork: 11 jobs, 510 hours, and a 5.0 average rating. The projects ranged from a long-running academic web platform and e-commerce storefronts to a therapy-notes app (TheraNotes), React + Rails rescue work, Next.js landing-page redesigns, and Docker/NPM build fixes. The feedback that repeats the most: fast turnaround, clear communication, and someone who slots into an existing team without friction.

These days I work AI-native - Cursor, Claude, spec-driven development - not as a buzzword but as a workflow: the model drafts, I direct, review and own the result. It is the same trait that drives this site: the intro animation you maybe watched is not a video, it is ~2,700 lines of TypeScript drawing every frame by hand. I wrote about how that works here.

A few non-work facts about me:

  • I like exploring new things - not only tech knowledge, but places, food and culture too.
  • Since the pandemic I play guitar - still mediocre, still loud.
  • I listen to almost every genre: ani-songs, J-pop, K-pop, mellow, punk, rock, reggae.
  • I watch a lot of film and series - anime, J-doramas, K-dramas, Thai and HK movies. Romance comedy wins most of the time.
  • I am slowly learning Japanese - hiragana and katakana so far, basic conversation next.
